Description

With the global reach of our US military and civilian population, the threat of CB warfare, and spread of deadly viruses in the world; it isnecessary to have containment options for large scale transport of hazardous/contaminated materials that meet the strict national,international and US Air Force standards for air transport. Production Products has addressed this need with the development of animpermeable container capable of carrying hazardous materials. The Contaminated Materials Transfer Case (CMTC), with a multi-wallconstruction to provide large-scale, highly durable, and leak-proof hazardous material containment answers the need. Phase I analysis byMERC verified that the CMTC could contain hazardous materials during drop testing and internal pressurization. In the Phase II program, theCMTC materials, design, and manufacturing will be optimized for performance. Test articles will be manufactured for in-house testing and riskreduction. Pre-production prototype articles will be manufactured and tested. The tests include: leak, drop and penetration, and hydrostaticpressurization. The Phase II results will ensure the CMTC is ready for Phase III final testing and flight testing.
