Description
The purpose of SA Photonics proposed effort is to provide a compact beam direction and tracking system for the Towed Airborne Plume Simulator (TAPS) to broaden its capability to include independent multi-band control for surface-to-air-missile plume simulation. A development effort lasting approximately 22 months is envisaged to mature the technology relevant to this application and transition it to AEDC. A working prototype will be built and ground-tested prior to flight testing (performed under a separate effort). The new version of TAPS will be called TOPS: Towed Optical Plume Simulator.
