Description
We will decrease the Areas of Uncertainties (AOU) of targets for the MAC sonar system by 1) modifying the pattern of buoys and 2) using traditional and novel types of acoustic data to self-locate the buoys and targets. The novel acoustic data will make it easier to identify and remove clutter. The proposed technology will improve the MAC systems performance even when the Global Positioning System is unavailable.
