Description

This proposed innovative approach, called Virtualize Combat System Environment (ViCE) based on advanced virtualization techniques to improve the resiliency of combat system. ViCE provides container hopping to keep our adversaries off guard with minor impact on the systems overall performance while providing a reduced attack-surface. ViCE will provide a novel capability to confuse and mislead potential attackers, thus reducing their chance of successful exploitation of the protected system. Achieving the goals of ViCE provides a delicate balance between the real time requirements of a combat system and the added security and resilience in confusing the adversary. By ensuring the adversary only has access to a small observation window before the attack surface changes. This balance is one of the teams major innovation and removes the barrier for providing container hopping to combat systems.
