Description
Surface Optics Corporation (SOC) proposes a Phase I effort to demonstrate an improved process for multispectral camouflage development, involving extraction of objective operational reflectance and pattern profiles for camouflage fabric from hyperspectral images of local desert, woodland and urban backgrounds.Using physics based software tools designed for low observable paint development, SOC will model candidate fabric designs, then manufacture, test and deliver samples of constructed camouflage textiles meeting these objective criteria for spectrally tailored reflectance. We will also demonstrate augmented reality capability (AR) to visualize measured fabric reflectance on virtual ULCANS systems spectrally rendered in the original hyperspectral backgroundbasically a virtual field test.In parallel with technical development, thermal and lidar signature, and likely operational conformance (durability, weight, cost, non-flammability, etc.) of candidate solutions will also be assessed.
