Description
The intent of this program is to develop precision controlled high stroke, high-blocking force actuators that are complaint and can continuously operate to 250C or above for solid-state propulsion control applications. The aim is to develop a new direct drive motion system that eliminates the need for conversion of force from rotary source to linear and then its direction from x-axis to z-axis.The new simple design uses advanced high temperature piezoceramics actuators combined with a novel motion amplification design explicitly designed for high temperature valve/thruster interface applications.Approved for Public Release | 16-MDA-8917 (15 November 16)
