Description

Rapid design and prototyping of systems and components needed by the DoD include the need for accurate models of non-linear and time-dependent magnetic circuit components, that provide advanced circuit capabilities for improved communications and remote sensing applications. Simulation of circuits using RF computational engines work well in the linear regime, but are inaccurate for non-linear and time-dependent magnetic components. This presents the need to couple RF and micromagnetics computational engines in order to accurately model circuit behavior. We propose to use a metadata markup standard, called the Visualization Schema, as a data interface layer through which we will couple RF and micromagnetics computational engines by translating their input and output data structures into a common format. We also propose to use a flexible, customizable GUI interface, called Composer, to automate pre- and post-processing of underlying computational engine data structures in order to control and facilitate coupling of the codes. We will leverage existing interfaces in Composer that use the Visualization Schema to visualize computational engine output data, providing rapid prototyping and simulation of circuits with non-linear magnetic components for military and commercial applications.
