Description
Data links are critical subsystems in missile platforms. These communication links provide information to the interceptor in flight such as guidance, target type, and other quintessential data required for intercepting the target. Legacy data links utilize modulation techniques such as Amplitude Shift Keying (ASK) to communicate information from the ground to the missile platform. Newer systems require more complex information and are achieving higher data rates through Frequency and Phase Shift Keying (FSK and PSK) techniques. With the advent of common launcher systems for both legacy and evolving missiles technologies, the need for a reprogrammable data link system exists. This proposal addresses this need and provides a potential solution.
