Description

One of the most frustrating and vexing problems for the warfighter is the fogging of eyewear.In Phase I, Tanner Research demonstrated its Active Droplet Transport (ADT) technology to move condensed droplets off surfaces.This technique, coupled with innovative electrodes and waveform shaping has tremendous advantages over conventional surface or heating anti-fogging methods.Although an electronic method, Phase I experimental datashows 72+ hour operational lifetimes, along with functional compatibility with a variety of flexible and rigid lenses (i.e. glass, plastics, transparent armor, etc.) ADT offers noiseless, vibration free operation that is a game changer for eyewear and potentially many other fields.In Phase II, Tanner will design, fabricate, and deliver prototype anti-fogging ADT, with miniaturized electronics,integrated onto current model Army goggles for preliminary field testing.Our demonstrated Phase I success has garnered the interest of a $100M eyewear company who will be Tanners commercialization partner in the Phase II/III.
