Description
We present a concept for a Surface Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (SNMR) Instrument for Geophysical, Geospatial, and Geotechnical Investigations. The proposed technology implements a a compact high-sensitivity SNMR instrument that is tailored for characterization of the uppermost 2 meters of the subsurface. This near surface application will be the driving force behind the development of our tailored SNMR instrument. We will focus on development of a system that is compact and easy to deploy, thus enabling rapid data collection. The spatial resolution of the proposed system will be high enough to provide soil imaging in two or three dimensions.
