Description
White River Technologies (WRT) propose this effort to develop and demonstrate an automated sensor system for the detection and discrimination of undersea hydrothermal vents. The Navy is interested in utilizing the energy from hydrothermal vents. Prior to being able to exploit this potential energy source, the hydrothermal vents must be located and mapped. Currently detection and mapping of vents is performed from surface ships. We propose an integrated, automated sensing solution for detecting, discriminating, and mapping hydrothermal vents utilizing a UUV platform.
