Description
To address the need for techniques and tools which consolidate information from multistatic-sonobuoy-field contact reports and provide the operator with the capability to rapidly find and focus on target detections, Applied Research in Acoustics LLC (ARiA) will develop an Automated Grid Integration (AGI) P-8A Applications Based Architecture (ABA) compatible software application to reduce clutter and false alarms for the Multistatic Active Coherent (MAC) system. The AGI application will employ signal-integration fusing algorithms across a geospatial grid array using qualitative data-filtering algorithms and intuitive Human Machine Interface (HMI) displays to improve the P-8As Acoustic Operator performance in identifying valid MAC-system detections. AGI will employ a common geospatial grid that will be used to define multiple arrays of filtered detection data integrated over time. The Phase I effort will (1) research and investigate the suitability and feasibility of AGI to significantly improve an operators ability to determine target detection(s) using simulated data at representative rates, (2) develop and demonstrate a conceptual model or process for an Airborne Multistatic Anti-Submarine Warfare Operator Target Detection and Discrimination System which consolidates information from the contact reports.
