Description
There is an ever-growing need for increased battery performance in weight-sensitive and volume-constrained applications.In particular, MDA weapons systems need reserve batteries with greater power and energy density to support new mission profiles.Also needed is the ability to develop batteries with non-standard form factors to fit in systems with tight size constraints.Erigo and our collaborators at EaglePicher Technologies propose to develop a series of thermal battery prototypes using a model-based development process that leverages recent laboratory advances in cathode materials, component fabrication techniques, advanced insulation materials, and a novel quality assurance technology.
