Description

The overall objective of this topic is to develop and deploy a system reliability testing and optimization tool that will quantify the value of subsystem level tests in an overall test program and incorporate the results into system level evaluations. The anticipated result of this proposed Phase I research effort is the development of a system reliability testing and optimization concept that defines and implements an analytical framework with a software toolset. The tasks of the base effort will have focused on defining the lifecycle test optimization analytical framework, defining the requirements for the application software components, and development of proof-of-concepts of the key components using sample data provided by the Government. The option effort will have extended the base effort to implement a final integrated lifecycle test optimization capability, where the focus of the research will have been on how the software components can be integrated to demonstrate the concept feasibility. The Phase I proof-of-concept demonstration will verify concepts and assumptions, validate the concept, and provide a reference for leveraging the lifecycle test optimization toolset capabilities for development of prototype software in Phase II, including a proof-of-concept analytical framework and architecture, to satisfy fully lifecycle test optimization requirements.
