Description
This effort will focus on the development and demonstration of new paint replacement applique technology that will operate throughout a broad band range in order to protect DOD shelter structures from Electromagnetic Interference. In addition, our team will investigate the use of novel frequency selective materials to the extent that a lab top prototype and design will be demonstrated for future projects. The proposed technical objectives are: (i) protect strategic and high cost assets from EMI while in critical operational situations; (ii) to develop and include a new 30 year life-cycle UV and environmentally stable wear resistant surface coating that prolongs the useful life of existing and new shelters; (iii) develop a low cost process to produce and fabricate the functional applique technology; (iv) reduce life-cycle cost by increasing the mean time between needed maintenance cycles.
