Description
Utilizing MCT’s proven customization development process developed over the past 50 years—including refining requirements, engineering designing, prototyping, testing, mass manufacturing, fielding, and sustaining—MCT proposes tailor-made, cost and time efficient mobile operations/maintenance platforms for DOD, DOE, Federal/State/Local/Tribal Government entities, and commercial sector Customers. In particular, this Phase I project develops the Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC) supported MCT customized Nuclear Response Trailer (NRT) operations platform. 509 Civil Engineering Squadron, Explosive (EOD) Flight at Whiteman AFB needs a ruggedized, mobile capability purposely designed and built to advance EOD’s ability to respond to the full spectrum of EOD emergency response operations; during inclement weather; in geographically remote locations away from base reach back capabilities; while providing a stand-alone mobile base to enhance response agility and speed to expedite the resolution of national crisis scenarios. MCT will travel to Whiteman AFB to interview key stakeholders including: our Empowered and Committed AF End-User for this effort, CMSgt Frank Pulice, the AFGSC/A4C Superintendent and MAJCOM EOD Functional Manager who is responsible for managing command requirements for the command’s EOD function; EOD Teammates including Users and Maintainers of the unsustainable Commercia Off The Shelf (COTS) legacy Base Support Emergency Response Vehicle (BSERV) that is near the end of its shelf life and has continual maintenance issues; as well as Program Management, Engineering and Contracting EOD Personnel. MCT will coalesce EOD feedback into a proposed SBIR Phase II proposed effort to design, prototype, test and field an NRT. Upon successful completion of this NRT Phase I, AFGSC supports a Phase II effort by MCT by working to align key stakeholders to include R&D, acquisitions, and requirements to develop an achievable path to technology transition.
