Description

The JRM team (JRM Technologies and Optical Sciences Corporation) proposes to develop a Dynamic Virtual Infrared Training System (DVIRTS), leveraging the teams unique expertise in real-time IR scene projection systems, dynamic 3D thermal target modeling, and physics-based vehicle and ordnance special effects simulation. The JRM Team will design and prototype an optimal IR scene projection system, including selection of the appropriate low-cost, LWIR projector technology, projection optics, and reflectance surface optimizations for suitable radiance to stimulate the thermal imagers. To feed this projection system, the team will devise a real-time dynamic 3D target generator leveraging static Recognition of Combatant Vehicles (ROC-V) target thermal imagery, but enhanced with JRMs innovative dynamic effects modeling to convert from ROC-V static thermal states to transient thermal states involving engine heating/cooling, frictional heating, gun-barrel-fire heating/cooling, as well as special effects like muzzle flashes, explosions, vehicle fires, smokes and countermeasures. Additionally, these entities will be driven by OneSAF interfaces to ensure conformance with Army simulation requirements and needs.
