ABSTRACT: The Design Knowledge Company (TDKC) presents this Phase I Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) proposal titled Evolvable PED Integrated Cockpit (EPIC).Our EPIC solution builds on 1) TDKCs Agile Work Environment (AWE) technology as a rapid prototyping environment; 2) our strong background in Cognitive Task Analysis (CTA); 3) TDKCs Local/Distributed Operational Collaborative User-Centered Support System (LOCUS) to support plug and play multimodal collaboration; and 4) our AOC System Engineering Toolkit (ASET) technology that automates the collection of usability data.EPIC includes an innovative interaction clustering technique that uses Recombinant (data) Structure-Function Chaining (RSFC) to integrate human-machine interface devices or capabilities, data, filters, automations, semantic processing, and image processing techniques to develop novel workflows that improve analyst efficiency and effectiveness to create workflow modules for the EPIC POD. EPIC includes an innovative human-centric cockpit that will augment analysis and enable rapid prototyping and human performance assessment.; BENEFIT: EPIC provides a technology that allows an operator conducting defensive cyber operations to work with many different cyber tools at once, reducing the workload and improving accuracy.This has numerous government, military, and intelligence community customers not to mention commercial customers.There are significant commercial applications in the defense and security domains.
