Description
In Phase I of KEPLER, we will demonstrate how customizing extraction techniques for knowledge base population will allow us to capture and reason with the rich semantics of events and actions. We will demonstrate (1) how to extract event parameters, event construals, and inter-event relations which can form several composite event constructs; (2) how to reason with a KB focusing on events by combining textual entailment techniques with inference in probabilistic soft logic; (3) how to discover exceptional events by using analogical reasoning on the KB; and (4) how to process a natural language query to retrieve knowledge about an event from the KB.
