Description
Power supply and voltage regulation circuits are critical components in electronic systems for military and commercial applications. Maxentric is proposing a solution for switched power supplies based on a high efficiency fully integrated approach, which can significantly reduce size and cost on a wide range of electronic systems. The solution will: (1) optimize the control circuitry and the gate drivers closely with the switcher stage, (2) increase the switching frequency to take advantage of the most recent performance of compound semiconductors and potentially integrate on chip the inductor. This way, an overall size reduction is expected while achieving high efficiency performance.During Phase II, we will prototype and characterize our designs to validate our modeling methodology and design technique. Our team will optimize the topology, the sub-circuit design, control algorithms, and integrated magnetics construction in Phase II. We will run one design and test period and based on lessons learned in the first run, we will run a second design and test period to implement improvements.
