Description
A new generation of high power, high energy supercapacitor/Li battery hybrid consisting of load bearing cells which can be embedded into a vehicle structure is proposed. The system design is highly modular and in the early stages of development at Micron Corporation. Preliminary test results at Micron indicate that the chosen structure of the energy storage components, using construction concepts applied in aircraft design, exhibits extraordinary mechanical strength at very low weight.
