Description
MDAs mission is to develop, test, and field an integrated, layered, Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) to defend the United States, its deployed forces, allies, and friends against all ranges of enemy ballistic missiles in all phases of flight. To accomplish this mission, the BMDS incorporates a substantial array of sensors and weapon systems, plus a Command, Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) element. The objective of this effort is to investigate methods for increasing the utility of C2BMCs system track picture for consumers, with a particular emphasis on improving track purity and track accuracy. The scope of this effort is to design, prototype, assess, document, and demonstrate advanced techniques supporting the preceding objective. Performance assessment may require the development of metrics, operationally relevant scenarios, and methods for visualization.Assessment will use simulated data and real data (i.e., flight tests or ground tests), assuming the latter is provided by MDA.Parametric analysis will also be used to establish performance boundaries of the various approaches.
