Description
As the production of integrated circuits is increasingly out-sourced,the counterfeit electronic components that are slipping into the supply chains are becoming a serious and urgent issue. Based on our extensive experience in identifying counterfeit components, we propose an advanced optical solution that simultaneously compares 6 unique features associated only with counterfeit components.An unprecedentedly high level of detection certainty is anticipated because these features are difficult for the counterfeiter to reproduce considering the cost and the profit-seeking nature of the activity.The proposed automated tool is also cost effective and capable of high throughput.It is simple to operate without the need for special training. Phase I will demonstrate counterfeit identification rate over 99% by testing over 10 counterfeit component examples.A completed system will be produced and extensively tested in the Phase II.
