Description

Quantum has two technical objectives for Phase II. The first is to develop, test, demonstrate, and deliver prototype three-dimensional (3D) array, Seismic Acoustic Detection and Ranging (SADAR) systems with a data sampling rate of 8,000 (8K) per second to automatically detect, classify, report, and localize underground sources for specific seismic-acoustic signals of interest in near real-time. The second is to develop, test, demonstrate, and deliver prototype Rapidly Deployable Hardened Sensor (RDSH) systems with Quantum sensing technology that can be deployed quickly into the ground by one person pressing it with their foot or using a blunt object, and then continuously record seismic-acoustic data in its area for at least 120 hours so the data can be extracted in-place for processing and analysis elsewhere. The SOW is organized under CLINs with the first three for the SADAR-3D/8K prototype. This system is an extrapolation of Quantums current 2D array SADAR product but requires extensive hardware, software, and algorithm development effort to leverage 3D array processings advanced capabilities. The fourth CLIN develops the RDSH prototype, focused on making a simple but robust quick-install sensor system. Both these prototypes will be thoroughly tested, and a government-witnessed demonstration performed.
