Description
Syntronics, LLC proposes to incorporate the fuze setting technology investigated in Phase I into new weapons systems currently in early development stages. To this end, Syntronics has partnered with General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (GD-OTS). GD-OTS will specify mechanical, electrical, and functional requirements for several ongoing weapons development programs. Syntronics will design and fabricate fuze setter power and data links to meet these specifications using Near Field Magnetic Resonance (NFMR) for non-contact power transfer and a bi-directional optical link for high speed data transmission. Separating the power and data transmission methods allows both to be optimized for their specific functions, thus increasing performance and decreasing size and complexity. GD-OTS will evaluate and demonstrate the resultant designs. The fuze setter data input and output will be directly compatible with any TTL data format, including RS-232, allowing bi-directional transfer of data in any format without randomization or other special processing. Any computer, such as the Army Rugged Handheld Computer, can be used as the host for the fuze setter software, and developed technology is compatible with legacy US Army setter systems.
