Description
There is a critical military need for communications in the presence of unintentional or deliberate interference to wireless systems. In particular, for the military wireless systems that need to communicate over long distances interference often limits communication to within the flight or platoon, denying the ability to communicate to radios outside the group. This project will design and build distributed radio interference mitigation systems for both the anti-access area denial (A2AD) maritime environment and the aerial environment. The project will implement a variety of high performance signal processing algorithms that can operate in both an aerial environment with high Doppler and in the maritime environment with complex channel conditions. The project execute three spiral developments that progressively reduce risk and demonstrate the key technologies. The project will culminate in a realistic bi-directional DRIM system that both beamforms at the transmitting cluster and the receiving cluster.
