Description

Existing head mounted display (HMD) technologies lack the capability to deliver the unique performance attributes requested by this solicitation. Six15 Technologies proposes an innovation to tile and couple full color, high brightness reflective micro-displays with highly transmissive, wide field of view head mounted display optics. The proposed innovation would fill a void in Military and Commercial markets for high resolution augmented reality displays suitable for a wide range of ambient lighting environments. Development of light security methods is also proposed for the benefit of the Military market specifically. The work proposed for Phase I includes research and experimentation designed to validate the feasibility of the approach and justify progression to Phase II development. A Phase I Option is also proposed to expedite the Phase II work. Proof of the critical method will be delivered as well as refined estimates of the size, weight, and power of a concept implementation. A detailed Phase II plan will be also be developed during Phase I.
