Description
Triton Systems proposes to develop durable liquid and aerosol repellent coatings for US military combat uniform fabrics and other solid surfaces of interest. The proposed coatings will combine PFOA-free fluorocarbon chemistry with unique nanotexturing using commercially off the shelf (COTS) materials to yield coatings with non-wetting properties. The Phase I will demonstrate the feasibility of our approach and is aimed at developing appropriate coating formulations, identifying coating process parameters for the various surfaces of interest and gaining a fundamental understanding of the interactions between the coated surfaces and aerosols/liquids of both high and low surface tension.
