Description
Our FUSION Augmented Reality User Interfaces (FAR-UI) for Tactical Drones provides intuitive controls and enhanced situational awareness for warfighters controlling semi-autonomous ground and air tactical vehicles.FAR-UI fulfills all the required military standards by modular integration with the GOTS Warrior Machine Interface common robotic controller software (demonstrated and scientifically tested), along with planned modular integrations to Nett Warrior interface standards.FAR-UI innovations include Wear Your Robot as a new class of semi-transparent wearable AR controls that appear attached to the warfighters body such as forearm panels that can dynamically change with mission and modes needs; Synthetic Vision enhancements of Augmented Reality providing wider field of views for enhanced situational awareness, as well as, backup visuals during live viewing difficulties due to weather, lighting, obscurants, brown-outs and white-outs; human centric display intensity/gamma automated leveling and smoothing optimizations for human eye capabilities including dark adaption for low-level lighting environments. Our differentiated scientific and technical approach is based upon our Fused Realities Assessment Modules (FRAM) inclusive of methods for actionable measures of absolute cognitive workload ensuring that our agile development iterative processes results in low cognitive burden and high warfighter acceptance (high-likeability) for managing tele-robotic operations as well as mission operations.
