Description

Nanodropper is a patented, FDA-listed, award-winning, adaptor for squeeze-type bottles that creates smaller droplets to reduce over-application and waste. Originally designed for use in the ophthalmic industry, the Nanodropper Eyedrop Tool has been rigorously tested and is supported by decades of clinical research showing that smaller drops are just as efficacious as larger drops. The current adaptor produces drop volumes of around 15 μL. Modifications will be made to address conversion to dental products for dispensation. Our team of engineers, scientists, managers, and medical professionals has over 25 years of medical technology experience and over 16 years of management and business experience, enabling us to 1) understand the medical need behind our solution, 2) scientifically validate the merit of our solution, 3) engineer a viable product, and 4) commercialize the product to the appropriate end-users. The Nanodropper is currently in production and is available for purchase by clinics and individuals. Nanodropper Dental is under development. In the dental industry, bonding agents are packaged in squeeze-type bottles that dispense oversized drops, resulting in unnecessary waste. With the costs between ~$100-$300 per bottle, and many dentists performing 8-10 bonded restorations per day, the waste created by these dental bond bottles quickly adds up. Execution of the Phase I effort will consist of customer discovery and identification of an AF stakeholder who we can partner with on a Phase II contract to adapt our ophthalmic solution to meet the needs of AF dentists. Specifically, this will ultimately entail designing, prototyping, and producing an additional sized adaptor for dental bond bottles.
