Description
The Non-Freezing Portable Vehicle Wash Tunnel is a light-weight, portable and cost-effective means of disinfecting vehicles and equipment However, a critical part of the decontamination process that has yet to be addressed is the application of disinfectant chemicals to the inside of livestock transport trailers and the vehicle undercarriage -especially those that have transported potentially infectious livestock. The proposed Phase II effort addresses this gap through the development of the Vehicle Decontamination Robot (VDR). The VDR will autonomously navigate inside cargo trucks and trailers as well as under vehicles. Through the use of its 3D scanner, it will disinfect complex vehicle surfaces while the wash tunnel addresses the outside. The VDR will complete the vehicle decontamination process.
