Description
The development and commercialization of an innovative simple to use durable and cost effective system capable of delivering fluoride to small and Mid size potable water systems is essential to increase the availability of fluoridated water to of the nation s population by Healthy People goal To achieve this goal a broadened research and development Phase II Plan has been produced that uses compressed tablets containing sodium fluorosilicate as the active fluoridation agent and utilizing Beta test data as the foundation This Plan describes specific controlled temperature tests closely mimicking ground water conditions and flow rates The product of this Plan will be a reliable fluoride output table as a function of water temperature flow rate and exposed surface area of tablets containing sodium fluorosilicate Additionally erosion tablet feeders will be evaluated to provide alternative feeding equipment The plan includes a verification phase wherein large scale testing in small public water systems PWs will be performed at pre selected sites meeting a point set of conditions criteria A turnkey system of fluoridation tables that meets AWWA specifications and is NSF listed using erosion tablet feeders will be the final product
