Description
Battlefield Telecommunications Systems proposes to build low delay low complexity lossless compression software framework and hardware prototype to be integrated in the telemetry system of a target vehicle test bed. The proposed compression algorithm is specially designed for target vehicle telemetry data, designed to reduce the dataset redundancy through the prediction by extracting the characteristics of telemetry data and intrinsic correlations among different measurements. The proposed approach combines real-time system design principles, traditional optimum lossless encoding, current multimedia compression methodologies, advanced digital signal process (DSP) technology and efficient telemetry data predication models into the software framework and hardware prototype architectures. The proposed system is designed to be robust to transmission errors and security threats, easily portable across platforms and straightforward to adapt to parallel architectures. Approved for Public Release 14-MDA-7739 (18 March 14).
