Description
Dura (the tough outermost membrane enveloping the brain and spinal cord) is damaged during traumatic injury--such as gunshot or blast injury-- or neurosurgery. Major neurologic morbidity often occurs as a result. These injuries have limited treatment options. Pascal Medical Corporation’s revolutionary ClickGel is an injectable fluid treatment that gels with body heat to fill CSF leaks, slowly releases drugs, and then disintegrates over time. This promotes overall wound recovery for the dura—the membrane surrounding the brain and spinal cord. ClickGel is the first product to promote healthy dural tissue formation without swelling and dangerously increasing intracranial pressure (ICP). Pascal will be the Air Force and DoD supplier of products to protect the modern warfighter from additional spinal cord and brain damage following blast injury, penetrating wounds, crush injury, or other trauma. Using the patented hydrogel technology, Pascal expects to reach marketing approval for dural injuries.
