Description
Carrier phase measurements in GPS are well known to enable precision performance. However, GPS is easily degraded or jammed. Carrier phase measurements in a local radio system, on the other hand, is much easier due to its much stronger signal level compared with GPS. In this proposal GIRD Systems will investigate feasibility of precise positioning techniques based on carrier phase measurements from a local radio system of transmitters and receivers. We will also make maximal reuse of GPS receiver tracking circuitry as much as possible. Furthermore, a Kalman filter will be developed integrating the local radio system with on-board IMU. Simulation study will be performed to test the feasibility.
