Description
ABSTRACT: Spontaneous Parametric Down Conversion (SPDC) is currently an active research area in quantum communications (QC) to develop heralded single photon sources. In this proposal we propose an innovated plug-and-play heralded photon source at 810 nm using CW pumping to achieve a g(2)(0)<0.02 and a single photon emission rate of>1MHz. We anticipate that the result of this Phase I project will be a design for a highly integrated SPDC source will enable free-space quantum key distribution and new fundament QC research. BENEFIT: The technology platform can be immediately applied to the development of entangled photon sources and upconversion single-photon detection applications that are critically important for the development of Quantum Key Distribution systems and advanced quantum communications research.
