Description

Hypergolic fuels are used in missiles for inducing spontaneous ignition. These fuels are toxic, and require monitoring of leakage. In Phase I, InnoSense LLC (ISL) developed a working model and demonstrated the detection of Monomethylhydrazine (MMH) and nitrogen dioxide (NO2). ISL"s detector exhibits immunity to interferents, showing long-term operational stability, and withstands shock and vibration. In Phase II, a prototype system will be developed in collaboration with a prime contractor, and its performance will also be tested at a prime contractor"s facilities. The device can be flush-mounted on a missile canister as a drop-in replacement, and measurements can be made for possible leak at all times. Approved for Public Release 14-MDA-7739 (18 March 14).
