Description

Our proposed Local/Distributed Operational Collaborative User-Centered Support System (LOCUS)builds on the existing achievements of: (1) our Phase I research and prototyping, (2) TDKCs Satellite Threat Evaluation Environment for Defensive CounterSpace (STEED) as a baseline environment from which to start; it has won high visibility in SBIR Advantage, Tech Horizons, and other publications, (3) current AFRL Core Process 3 (CP3) Defensive CounterSpace (DCS) tools being developed for the AF Joint Space Operations Center (JSpOC), and (4) additional tools and experience for collaboration, multi-modal interaction, visualization, and work support to the LOCUS project. These aforementioned capabilities and technologies will be merged with new tools like the Keyhole Markup Language (KML), social bookmarking, and web services in order render a much-needed capability.LOCUS tools enable the rapid correlation an integrated display of multi-modal data, open source intelligence, and other battlespace information. In order to demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach and provide real-world demonstration data as part of Phase II, we plan to develop interfaces to existing AOC tools like DCGS, ACUMEN, JAGUAR, and COA sketch, and others.
