Description
This project calls for efficient, virtually lossless compression of SAR and camera images. These images are transmitted over a noisy, fading HF radio link, so the compressed bit streams must be error resistant or resilient. We propose efficient source coding (compression) algorithms that have error resilient properties that protect the bitstream from degradation due to channel impairments.
