Description
In this SBIR program, QuesTek Innovations, a leader in the field of Integrated Computational Materials Engineering (ICME), proposes to develop and apply its microstructure-sensitive models to the"closed-loop,"location-specific prediction of nickel superalloy disk properties (e.g., strength). During Phase I, the goal will be to expand upon QuesTek"s DARPA-"Accelerated Insertion of Materials"efforts to create fully"closed-loop,"location-specific property and microstructural models that integrate with process simulation software. These"closed loop"-type models can be fully integrated into the turbine disk design and manufacturing processes during later stages (Phase II and beyond) of the SBIR project, offering a new level of accuracy in ICME process optimization.
