Description
3um fiber laser sources suffer from limitations in the fiber, such as high loss. Fluoride fiber has been utilized as a solution for this problem, but this suffers from a low damage threshold among other issues. SA Photonics in collaboration with the LLNL Fiber Laser Group has proposed a hybrid solution to getting around this problem. Our 3um source has the advantages of being a rugged, monolithic source, but avoids the high loss issue of typical fiber sources, while also supporting very high power output powers.
