Description

This proposal seeks to provide the capability for fully autonomous buoy operation for up to 72 hours. Because the VHF link bandwidth is fully saturated in normal operation, it is not possible to simply store the data and uplink it when the aircraft is present. A fully autonomous buoy must determine which data is valuable enough to keep, and the most logical way to do so is to apply conventional target detection techniques to retain only data which has a high probability of containing a target signature. Information assurance and anti-tamper features are provided to protect the data link and sensitive data within the module.
