Description
Liner wear in spherical bearings used in fixed wing and rotor craft can be significantly accelerated by liquid and solid contamination. Contamination is particularly problematic with oscillating loads. The proposed solution will prevent contamination of plain airframe bearings without significant additional friction or cost. The modification will not impact the bearing installation time, methods or required equipment. The solution will not significantly increase initial breakaway/running torque, temperature or maintenance cost. It is universal to all SAE Aerospace bearings (AS81819, AS81820, AS81935, AS82819, AS8942), all sizes and material options
