Description
The need for greater payload and range for tactical missiles is unsatisfied by current propulsion concepts. Greater payload and range is necessary for increased operational adaptability of Warfighters. The Grossi Statically-Operating Ejector Ramjet (SOERJ) engine combines the high speed performance of a ramjet and low speed, or static performance of a solid rocket motor which results in greater payload and range with insensitive munitions compliance. SBIR Phase I results generally demonstrated tactical missile feasibility. Improved, integrated, and optimized modeling codes are proposed. Laboratory techniques with an all-new full-scale apparatus is proposed to validate the modeling codes. Advanced analysis of tactical missile feasibility is proposed. The research will be conducted by the original SOERJ scientist with ten years of SOERJ research experience. Proof of feasibility is expected to generate investment for full-scale demonstrators by acquisition programs.
