Description
Camber Ridge proposes to build a modular tire testing apparatus to overcome the shortcomings of conventional tire testing machines. The apparatus involves an instrumented spindle mounted on a tire orientation manipulation device which can dynamically position the tire in any orientation necessary to replicate the movement of a suspension. The manipulation device can be mounted in a number of configurations, including those currently found in the industry (i.e., mounted on a trailer, suspended above a belt, etc.) or in a new configuration (such as suspended on a moving, guided carriage above a paved surface).
