Description
Current DIRCM systems are effective against traditional reticle based seeker architectures. They project a modulated signal to confuse the seeker and divert it off its target. Missiles with modern seekers based on FPA imagers are being developed that are highly resistant to current DIRCM systems so a new approach is necessary. This effort will develop and test a beam delivery system for an DIRCM system that projects a high energy laser beam to damage the seeker dome or internal components.
