Description
Boulder Nonlinear Systems proposes to improve the manufacturability of adaptive polymer lenses (APLs) specifically as they pertain to rifle scopes. Phase II deliverables include: Polymer Lens Cores Design, tooling specifications and process procedures for Membrane Transfer Fixture (from cure release clamp) Design, tooling specifications and process procedures for Membrane Clamping Fixture (from alignment clamp bond) Design, tooling specifications and process procedures for Membrane Tailoring Fixture Integrated Fabrication Fixture Final Technical Report The proposed Phase II research will mature the APL manufacturing technology to the point where the lenses can be readily fabricated in sufficient quantity to be transitioned to low rate production for rifle scopes.
