Description
Overview: Temper’s laminated technology combines universal tooling base production with smart susceptors and additive manufacturing to accelerate production time of composite parts to original OEM specifications, from over six months for tooling and first part produced using current traditional technologies, to 8 days for tooling and over 100 parts in 2 days. Parts have been processed between 350 to 800 deg F, and tooling has been run at temperatures between 800 and 950 deg F. Technical Merit: By combining Temper’s three technological components – smart susceptors, laminated tooling structures, and metal additive manufacturing, Temper is able to create a rapid processing tooling concept for smart susceptor tooling. Using this innovative advanced manufacturing process, coupled with the ability to accurately print metal, Temper can reduce production time of composite parts by an order of magnitude, and part production time remains at minutes per part. Reusable Master Tool Set. Can take up to 100’s of different part configurations (thermoplastic or thermoset) 3D Printed Tool Inserts: Enables the creation of smart susceptor tooling inserts Smart Susceptor technology combined with gas quenching: Capable of mass production of parts at minutes per part
