Description
Triton Systems, Inc. is proposing an innovative, low cost method for the delivery of sensor payloads to specific locations for oceanographic, environmental, and biologic data collection in various depths of water. Triton’s DART will be capable of delivering a payload to a predetermined location within a 33 ft radius. The delivery vehicle within the DART System will be capable of being deployed into the ocean from any platform by two operational crew personnel. DART can optionally be retrieved at the surface after delivery of the vehicle. DART’s key advantages include a low system cost, a flexible design, a rugged body capable of performing repeated missions, a low logistical burden (ship of opportunity and operation personnel requirement), and operational range. The Phase I effort will comprise of the development of the DART system, logistics design, and testing of the system.
