Description
Chemical sensing for explosives and toxic compounds requires a robust, high average power, and fast electronically tunable Mid-and Long-Wave InfraRed (M/LWIR) laser source. We propose to develop a widely tunable Quantum Cascade Laser (QCL) with high spectral modulation bandwidth and fast random access to any wavelength within the tuning range. The technology is based on a proprietary monolithic design exceptionally resistant to shock and vibration encountered in field use.
